COVID-19 Update from the President & CEO of Stamford Health
Published: May 07, 2020l
Hello. I'm Kathleen Silard, President & CEO of Stamford Health.
The COVID-19 pandemic remains a rapidly changing global health crisis. But here in our community, every day brings new victories.
Thanks to social distancing we are experiencing a decrease in number of patients with COVID 19 who are being diagnosed and admitted to Stamford Hospital.
And our convalescent plasma clinical trial, which uses the plasma from people who have recovered from COVID-19 to treat people who have the disease, is showing promising results.
There is no doubt that these are very positive signs, and while it is not currently possible to pinpoint when we will be able to resume all of our services, we are already planning and getting ready for that day.
In the meantime, know that our doctors continue to be available to you in their offices, over the phone and online. Our surgeons continue to operate. Our Emergency Department continues to safely treat both adults and children in need of care. Our pediatricians are available for your little ones. In fact, last month, Stamford Health welcomed more than 200 babies into the world – each new life symbolizing that we were, are and will always be RIGHT HERE for you.
