Kathleen Silard, MS, BSN, RN, FACHE

Ms. Silard is the President and Chief Executive Officer at Stamford Health and is responsible for a 305-bed acute care hospital, the Stamford Health Medical Group, an extensive ambulatory network and the Foundation for Stamford Health. Prior to becoming President & CEO, Kathy was the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Stamford Hospital responsible for clinical and operational leadership. She led the development and building of the new hospital at Stamford Health and has been a leader in several other initiatives including the development of the Heart & Vascular Institute, the Bennett Cancer Program and collaboration with Dana Farber relationship as well as the unique collaborative for Orthopedics and Spine with Hospital for Special Surgery, the Women’s Breast Center, Children’s Specialty Center and Pediatric Emergency Department.

Kathy started her career as a Pediatric and Neonatal ICU Nurse at Einstein Hospital in NY. From there she became Director of Clinical Operations at Einstein and went on to become the Executive Director of the Montefiore Medical Group. Before joining Stamford Hospital, Ms. Silard was the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at St. Josephs Regional Medical Center in NJ.

Kathy has a B.S. in Nursing from Herbert H. Lehman College, City University of New York, and Masters with Honors in Health Care Administration from Iona College.

Kathy has been active in several community organizations such as Stamford EMS, Greenwich PTA, Greenwich Scholarship, YWCA of Greenwich, Fairfield County Business Association, Parents of Tufts University Dental School, Hobart & William Smith College, Loyola University, and Friends of Kent School. She is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for CHA, GNYHA and AdvanceCT and is the recipient of several awards recognizing her career accomplishments and dedication to the community.
