World-Class Medical Oncology Care

Being diagnosed with cancer can be scary, confusing, and even alienating. Our dedicated team, including your nurse navigator, at Stamford Health is committed to each person that we treat, providing emotional support along with the cutting-edge medical testing and treatments available.

Our treatment suites at the Carl & Dorothy Bennett Cancer Center include 16 private rooms. Each has a comfortable sitting area, and during treatment, we provide blankets, snacks, and lunches.

We offer the most advanced and effective chemotherapy (including oral chemotherapy) for our patients. Your oncologist and team will create a plan that is specific to your case, including the dosage and how often you’ll receive it.

You may also receive cancer immunotherapy, which is a ground-breaking treatment in oncology and hematology services. Here, doctors use specific medicines to stimulate the immune system to better attack cancer cells.

If you have been prescribed a specialty medication, our team at Stamford Health Pharmacy can support your journey. You will receive support from specialized pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who work as part of your care team. These highly-trained pharmacy team members will not only help you afford and adhere to your vital therapies – they will also monitor therapeutic results and collaborate with your provider(s) to better manage your health.

Chemotherapy Treatment At Stamford Health

We understand that the chemotherapy process can be overwhelming, but our dedicated team is here to support you and make sure you feel confident with each step.

Preparing For Treatment At The Infusion Center

To be sure you understand your specific treatment plan, we schedule a teaching visit before your first actual treatment. At this appointment, your nurse will walk you through:

  • How the therapy is given.
  • What to expect during treatment.
  • What you can do to keep yourself feeling well and minimize possible side effects.
  • Scheduling your actual treatment time.

Treatments are provided in a warm, comfortable environment for patients and care partners. Please feel free to bring reading material or an iPad with headphones.

Immunotherapy Treatment At Stamford Health

Cancer immunotherapy is one of the latest ground-breaking treatments in oncology and hematology. As an alternative to chemotherapy, it works by inhibiting the proteins released by cancerous cells and boosting the immune system to attack the tumor cells.

Preparing For Treatment At The Infusion Center
