Take A Look Inside Our NICU

Compassionate Care & Support Throughout Your Baby’s Stay

LEVEL III NICU

As a designated level III unit, our recently renovated NICU is equipped to care for babies with a low birth weight, respiratory issues, nutritional challenges, and more.

COORDINATED CARE

Our physicians work closely with the maternal-fetal medicine and pediatric surgery teams to provide comprehensive care. As your child grows, we have specialized pediatric resources available including a pediatric emergency room.

RESOURCE & REFLECTION SPACE

Our resource room is stocked with helpful information for NICU parents. It also provides a private, comfortable space for families and parent mentoring from the Tiny Miracles Foundation.

TRANSITIONAL ROOM

When your baby is ready to come home, parents are invited to spend a night in our new transitional room to help you prepare for this milestone. With the support of our team down the hall, you can adapt to caring for your infant on your own. Until then, you can sleepover in the baby’s room.

Our Clinical Evaluation Program For NICU Graduates

Graduating from the NICU is a major milestone, which is why we’ve created our NICU Infant Clinical Evaluation Program (NICE). Raising a graduate of the NICU can be especially challenging, so we’re here to help you have the best transition home possible and to identify programs to help you and your pediatrician manage common issues like growth, nutrition, and neurodevelopmental delay.

You can find our program at the Cohen Children's Specialty Center at the Tully Health Center. Each visit to the program will include:

  • A comprehensive history and review of issues like growth, nutrition, GE reflux, and respiratory illnesses, by Dr. Ciannella and NICU nurses.
  • A neurodevelopmental assessment using state-of-the-art tools to measure neurological integrity, linguistic and auditory milestones, and visual-motor abilities.
  • A full report for your child’s primary care provider and communication to ensure follow-ups are in place as appropriate.
