Osteoporosis is a bone disease that weakens and thins your bones. When you have osteoporosis, you are more likely to break a bone. About one in two women and one in four men over the age of 50 will break a bone due to osteoporosis. The most common fractures for people with osteoporosis include a broken hip, spine or wrist.
