Bennie W. Chiles III, M.D., F.A.A.N.S, F.A.C.S., is a board-certified neurosurgeon and fellowship-trained spine surgeon, who operates Westchester Spine and Brain Surgery, PLLC, a multi-hospital neurosurgical practice which provides state-of-the-art surgical evaluation and treatment for a wide variety of conditions related to the spine and brain, with emphasis on surgical spine problems such as disc herniations and spinal stenosis, often requiring complex operative treatments. Dr. Chiles also specializes in innovative techniques such as computer-guided surgery and cervical artificial disc placement. He is an Attending neurosurgeon at numerous hospitals throughout Westchester County and Connecticut. A New York City native and Harvard University graduate, Dr. Chiles attended medical school at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine. He then completed his residency in neurosurgery, as well as a combined orthopedic-neurosurgical fellowship in complex spine surgery, both at New York University (NYU) Medical Center. He has performed well over 4,000 major operative procedures since entering practice in Westchester in 1998.

He was certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery in 2002, and was named a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 2004. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, as well as an active member of the New York State Neurosurgical Society, where he served as a member of the Board of Directors from 2006 to 2023, and is also a Past-President. Dr. Chiles has authored a number of scientific publications and book chapters within neurosurgery, and presented numerous times at conferences both locally and nationally. In April 2022, he was appointed to serve as a physician member of the New York State Board of Professional Medical Conduct.

Dr. Chiles has received the prestigious honor of being named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor in Neurosurgery/Spine Surgery six consecutive years from 2020 to 2025. He has also been recognized as one of the Top Neurosurgeons in the region by Westchester Magazine in their annual November Top Doctors issue every year since 2020. Additionally, he was again named one of the Top Neurosurgeons in the entire New York Metro Area for 2025, and in this regard was featured in the annual July Best Doctors issue of New York Magazine for the fifth consecutive year.
