About Me

Dr. Harold Gewirtz is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Stamford Hospital. He performs cosmetic surgery of the face and neck and works with surgeons performing breast reconstruction after breast cancer surgery. He also has significant experience with skin cancers, including melanoma.

Dr. Gewirtz has a special interest in helping women restore their body confidence after having children. Often, abdominoplasty and breast reduction or augmentation (mommy makeovers) improve a woman’s self-esteem just as much as her appearance.

He finds plastic surgery wonderfully rewarding. It’s a pleasure to improve appearance and function as well as contribute to positive changes in his patients’ lives.

Dr. Gewirtz attended John’s Hopkins School of Medicine, followed by a surgical residency at UCLA and a plastic surgery fellowship at New York University. He has donated his skills internationally in the Middle East and Balkans.

Dr. Gewirtz has been recognized by his peers in the Castle Connolly guide for excellence in plastic surgery and in several local and regional “Best Doctors” guides and magazines.
