About Me
James A. Lee, MD, oversees the endocrine surgery program at Stamford Health. His primary role is Chief of Endocrine Surgery at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where he specializes in the care of patients who have disorders and diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands. Dr. Lee holds the appointment of the Edwin C. and Anne K. Weiskopf Associate Professor of Surgical Oncology at Columbia University Medical Center.
Dr. Lee earned his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1999. Afterward, he performed an internship and two residencies in surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital (Columbia University). He also performed a fellowship in adult stem cell research at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Before his medical studies, Dr. Lee attended Yale University, where he earned a degree in English literature.
Using his expertise and great passion for education, Dr. Lee has developed and organized several postgraduate courses in surgery. He is director of the COACH Education Project, which creates and maintains a multimedia curriculum for surgical education.
As a physician and surgeon with Stamford Health, Dr. Lee is dedicated to providing personalized care and advanced, innovative treatment for his patients.
