About Me

Dr. Jennifer Henkind is a board-certified pediatrician who has been practicing at Stamford Pediatrics since 1994. She’s been recognized for outstanding care throughout her career.

Some of Dr. Henkind’s awards include:

  • Connecticut Magazine Top Doctors (2011 – 2016)
  • Castle Connolly Top Doctors (2016)
  • Stamford Hospital Physician of the Quarter (June, 2015)
  • Westchester Magazine Most Distinguished Doctors (2007 – 2009)
  • Westchester Top Doctors (2008)

Dr. Henkind conducted research at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia for two years before beginning medical school. She earned her medical degree from State University of New York (SUNY) Buffalo, where she graduated cum laude. Dr. Henkind completed her pediatric training at the Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, New York. Once her training was complete, she began practicing at Stamford Pediatrics, where she has been providing care ever since.

In addition to her office-based practice, Dr. Henkind serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at New York Medical College. She works with first and second year medical students, guiding them through their first true clinical patient experiences.

Dr. Henkind is also active in a variety of roles as a volunteer. She teaches parenting and life skills to “at risk” families through the St. Joe’s Parenting Center in Stamford. She also uses her personal experience as an adoptive parent to teach about medical and developmental aspects of international adoptions through the Family and Children’s Agency in Norwalk.
