About Me

Katherine Takayasu, MD, MBA is an Integrative Medicine doctor and founder of Wellness Insights, an integrative healing collaborative in Darien. She is committed to practicing integrative medicine and caring for the whole patient – mind, body, and soul.

Dr. Takayasu has a passion for plant-forward cooking and lifestyle balance. She works to improve patient wellness by combining traditional Western medicine with complementary modalities like acupuncture, mind-body medicine, botanical medicine, and nutrition to help patients holistically achieve their goals.

She serves as an independent family medicine physician who is part of the medical staff for Stamford Health. She provides a natural approach to conditions that affect health and quality of life. Her areas of interest include holistic approaches to perimenopause, fertility, pregnancy-related conditions, and pain management for a variety of conditions from migraine headaches to irritable bowel syndrome.

Dr. Takayasu earned her medical degree from Wright State University, she then completed her residency in Family Medicine and served as Chief Resident at Columbia University/New York Presbyterian. After residency, she obtained her fellowship  in integrative medicine at Stamford Hospital/University of Arizona and trained in medical acupuncture at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.

The majority of the physicians on the Stamford Hospital Medical Staff are not employees or agents of the Hospital. They are independent practitioners who have been granted the privilege of using the Hospital's facilities for the care and treatment of their patients. This includes, but is not limited to, emergency department physicians, anesthesiologists, radiologists, surgeons, cardiologists, obstetricians, pathologists and other consultants who may treat patients.
