About Me

Kathryn (Katy) Mitra is an advanced practice nurse with over two decades of experience in the health care field. After many years as a bedside and advanced practice nurse in cardiology, critical care, and vascular surgery, she transitioned to electrophysiology, or heart rhythm disorders. She believes the partnership between patient and providers is key to healing and one of the most important things we can do as providers is to communicate clearly.

As part of the electrophysiology team, we help manage abnormal heart rhythms with treatments like medications, lifestyle changes, ablations, and implantable cardiac devices like pacemakers, defibrillators, and loop recorders.

Many of the conditions we treat can be potentially frightening or upsetting diagnoses for individuals. Katy enjoys being able to help alleviate some of the potential fears by educating patients and their loved ones and helping them understand what the treatment plan will look like.
