About Me

Dr. Pirelli is a cardiothoracic surgeon who specializes in structural valve therapies. Dr. Pirelli received his education at the University of Milan, Italy, where he also completed his residency in cardiac surgery. He then completed his residency and fellowship at the New York University Langone Medical Center. After two more years of training in Monaco and Zurich, he joined Lenox Hill Hospital as faculty and surgical director of the structural valve program.

In May 2023, he joined Columbia University where he was appointed assistant professor of surgery. Dr. Pirelli’s main focus is the treatment of valvular pathologies. He specializes in both open as well as transcatheter interventions, that allow repair of replacements of cardiac valves via small catheters, without surgical incisions.
