About Me
Dr. Mathur works with children and families individually to make healthy lifestyle changes. Through her comprehensive weight loss program, she has helped her patients reverse high blood sugar and avoid Type 2 diabetes. She provides support and encouragement every step of the way.
In 2006, Dr. Mathur was instrumental in the development of the Kids Fitness and Nutrition Services Program (KIDS’ FANS) which provides nutrition education to children. Her efforts led to healthier meals at local restaurants, schools and childcare learning centers, as well as the creation of community and school gardens and cooking classes.
In April 2013, Dr. Mathur organized the Childhood Obesity Symposium in Stamford. In 2011, Dr. Mathur was featured as the American Academy of Pediatrics’ “Spotlight Pediatrician.” Her work as the Director of Stamford Hospital’s Pediatric Clinic was the media highlight of the National 2010 American Academy of Pediatrics conference. She has also received numerous awards for her quality care, including the Community Service Award from the Connecticut Hospital Association and the Brava Award from the Greenwich YWCA, and has presented at many national conferences.
Dr. Mathur serves as the Medical Director of the Medical Home Initiative in Southwestern Connecticut and Co-Chair of the Medical Home Advisory Council for the State of Connecticut.
