About Me

Dr. Samuel Taylor is board certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. His clinical expertise includes minimally invasive and reconstructive techniques of the shoulder, elbow and knee. As a life-long athlete, Dr. Taylor understands the demands and anxieties injured athletes face.

Dr. Taylor played varsity football during his four years at Harvard University. He earned his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and went on to complete an orthopedic surgery residency at Hospital for Special Surgery. During his residency, the faculty awarded Dr. Taylor the Weill Cornell Alumni Council Distinguished Housestaff Award for exemplary all-around service. His peers also selected him to receive the Jean C. McDaniel Award for leadership, professionalism and ethics in patient care.

Dr. Taylor participated in a traveling fellowship, where he received additional training from nationally and internationally renowned experts in complex shoulder, knee and elbow conditions.

Dr. Taylor currently serves as Associate Team Physician for the New York Giants NFL team and team physician for the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) semi-professional football team.

Dr. Taylor has published extensively in his field, authoring more than 20 peer-reviewed papers and 13 book chapters. He was recognized with the J. Whit Ewing Award at the 2014 Annual Meeting of the Arthroscopy Association of North America for his groundbreaking work on the long head of the biceps tendon.
