About Me

Dr. Steve Lo has cared for patients with cancer for over 30 years. Before joining Stamford Health, he worked at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

Dr. Lo chose to work in oncology because it is a challenging field, where care is constantly improving and changing. He feels he can do more for patients now than ever before and that prevention, diagnosis, and treatment options will continue to progress and improve.

To contribute to this improvement, Dr. Lo conducts a range of clinical research into innovative cancer treatments, giving his patients access to many advanced, national clinical trials. He commonly participates in research into immunotherapy and targeted treatments based on cancer’s specific genes.

Dr. Lo believes his role as a physician is to give his patients accurate, up-to-date information so they can make an informed decision about what treatment is right for them. He empowers his patients to take an active role in their care and strives to ensure that they can meet treatment goals while maintaining a high quality of life. He enjoys developing partnerships with his patients and keeping up with them years after they have completed treatment. He was awarded the Breast Cancer Alliance Mary Waterman Award for his outstanding care and advocacy.
