About Me

Dr. Whitney A. Booker is a double-board certified physician in obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine. She is nationally recognized for providing care in prenatal fetal diagnosis and high-risk maternal medicine. Dr. Booker specializes in advanced ultrasound imaging, prenatal diagnostic genetic testing and treatment of women with rare medical conditions in pregnancy.

In addition to her clinical care, Dr. Booker is a physician-scientist with a history of multiple sources of university, industry, and National Institutes of Health grant funding, with a research focus on cardiovascular disease and hypertension in pregnancy. Beyond her interest in hypertension, Dr. Booker also specializes in pregnancies of women conceived by IVF, advanced maternal age, and various other rare maternal medical conditions. Additionally, she is trained in cerclage placement and takes care of pregnancies at risk for preterm birth.

Dr. Booker is a proud graduate of Columbia's Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS '05), where she received her undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering. She was a nationally recruited division I athlete at Columbia, where she was recognized as an All-Ivy League lacrosse player.

She attended medical school in Chicago at The University of Illinois, where she was an active member and served in multiple leadership roles in the Student National Medical Association (SNMA), leading initiatives in supporting Black and Latino medical students and concurrently addressing the needs of underserved patients in the urban community.

Dr. Booker went on to complete her residency in New York City at Mt. Sinai Hospital, where she was selected for the Gold Humanism Society in recognition of her excellence in humanistic patient care, leadership, compassion, and dedication to teaching and service. Following residency, she returned to Columbia, where she completed a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine in 2019. She served as faculty at Columbia from 2019-2026, where she developed a busy clinical practice, providing consultation and prenatal care to women with high-risk pregnancies. Today, she brings her breadth of clinical experience to Stamford Health, where she could serve her community locally. Her national leadership experience, research and rigorous clinical training has supported her passion and dedication to reducing ethnic and racial disparities in maternal health in the community.
