The following letter was sent to the Stamford Hospital Foundation along with a generous donation. On behalf of all of Stamford Health, I am grateful for the students and staff of Stamford High School for reaching out with such warm appreciation for our healthcare heroes. I cannot thank you enough.
To the staff of Stamford Hospital,
The Science National Honor Society at Stamford High School would like to thank you for all that you've done for our community. In the last year, feelings of despair, fear, and sadness overwhelmed our Stamford community and the world around us. Yet, as we experienced these emotions, a sense of comfort was found in the knowledge that our community had such a strong backing. On the gloomiest of days, staying home and falling back wasn't an option for those at Stamford Hospital. Rather, this fantastic staff worked courageously to provide our community with care during significant adversity. In the process, we were able to witness the staff's full will in action. The compassion, patience, and valor practiced when administering care were the very traits that overshadowed many challenges faced.
From an outsider's perspective, it's difficult to understand how one could invest so much effort into the most arduous of undertakings. But from watching the staff at Stamford Hospital, it became clear that in each other, you found strength and solidarity in your collective ability to better the livelihoods of your patients during a dire time.
It was in you that our community found refuge.
So, we thank you; for all that you've done, and all that you continue to do.
