Avocado & Green Tea Popsicles

Published: July 19, 2019

Who says guacamole owns the rights to avocados? Avocados are just as delicious and nutritious as part of a heat-beating, frozen treat.

These popsicles not only contain healthy fats from avocados, but protein from Greek yogurt, antioxidants from green tea and the perfect sweetness from banana and honey.

Four words: perfect, creamy, healthy treat.

Ingredients:

1 avocado, cut in half, pit removed

1 banana, chopped

1/2 cup 0% fat plain Greek yogurt

1 tbsp. green tea matcha powder (Skip this one for the kids!)

1 tbsp honey (Go local, if possible.)

Directions:

  1. Blend avocado, banana, milk, yogurt, matcha powder and honey until completely smooth
  2. Pour mixture into any popsicle molds you have. 4-ounce molds do the trick
  3. Place popsicle sticks in the molds and freeze for at least 8 hours

Tips:

Popsicles won't budge? Run the outside of the mold under warm water for a few seconds, then try again.

In the mood for smoothies instead? No problem! Just add a little ice in the blender and enjoy.

Not in the mood for either? This mixture makes for a delicious breakfast power bowl. Sprinkle some granola, slivered almonds and chia seeds on top for that extra crunch factor.
