EpicCare Link is a secure, web-based application providing community providers access to their patient’s information in Stamford Health’s Epic electronic health record (EHR). We are improving continuity of care for our patients, by providing you with real-time access to your patient’s chart including:
- Lab, imaging, and test results.
- Hospital admissions and discharge summaries.
- Consultation and progress notes.
- Procedures, orders, and medications.
- Upcoming scheduled appointments.
In addition to viewing your patient’s information, you can also:
- Receive event notifications and securely communicate with Stamford Health medical staff through
In-Basket messaging. - Refer your patients and track referrals.
- Place lab, imaging, and other diagnostic orders.
Who typically uses EpicCare Link?
- Office staff of affiliated physicians and providers.
- Community physicians and their office staff who are not affiliated with Stamford Health.
- Long-term care facilities that share patients with Stamford Health

Who can use EpicCare Link?Any organization that shares patients with Stamford Health - such as referring physicians, community primary care & specialty providers, and their authorized office staff. Clinicians at other outside organizations such as nursing homes that have patients or orders sent to Stamford Health.

Can my staff get their own EpicCare Link account?Yes. Once you’ve established your practice’s or facility’s EpicCare Link site account, your clinical and office staff can request their own EpicCare Link accounts from the Site Administrator assigned to your office.

Who is the Site Administrator?A member of your practice or facility needs to be designated as the Site Administrator. The Site Administrator can use the Manage My Clinic function, after logging in, to review and confirm the EpicCare Link access of each member. If you are designated as the Site Administrator, please check the box “Make this user a Site Administrator” when signing up for EpicCare Link online. Site Administrator access can be adjusted anytime after the account has been created.

Can I use EpicCare Link if I am on Stamford Health’s Medical Staff?Stamford Health Medical Staff typically access Epic through Epic Hyperspace and do not require EpicCare Link. Non-employed Office Based Medical Staff who wish to place outpatient orders, referrals or take advantage of other benefits of EpicCare Link while in your outpatient setting, can utilize EpicCare Link.

Is there a charge for using EpicCare Link?No, Stamford Health provides EpicCare Link at no cost.

Does EpicCare Link require any software installation or setup?Stamford Health EpicCare Link is a web-based application that does not require any installation on your computers or servers. All you need to access EpicCare Link is a computer and an internet connection. EpicCare Link is compatible with all current operating systems and browsers, and data is encrypted to ensure access to patient data is strictly controlled.

What technology do I need to access EpicCare Link?A web browser such as Microsoft Edge, Chrome, or Safari with internet access. We recommend a computer with a high-speed internet connection and a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768 for best results.

Is training required for EpicCare Link?No training is required to use EpicCare Link. Educational materials such as “Quick Guides” and “Tip Sheets” are accessible from the Quick Links section of your EpicCare Link homepage upon login.

How do I sign up for EpicCare Link?
If your organization does not have access, an office manager, director, or physician can complete the Request a New Site online application.
If others in your organization already have access, see your Site Administrator and ask to be added.

How do I get assistance with my password or if I have trouble logging in to EpicCare Link?Stamford Health requires every site using EpicCare Link to assign a Site Administrator. The Site Administrator will have the ability reset passwords and more. For password and access issues, please contact your Site Administrator.
