How To Book Virtual Visits With Stamford Health
If you need to see a same-day virtual care provider now, the Stamford Health team can provide the care you need via telehealth. Simply reserve your same-day appointment time. Our providers are available every day, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., for patients in Stamford, Greenwich, Norwalk, Darien, Westport, Wilton, New Canaan, and throughout Connecticut.
What To Expect During A Virtual Visit
There are a few things to keep in mind before starting a virtual visit with Stamford Health. Please review the list below before scheduling an appointment.
- Prior to starting the appointment, the patient will need complete an eCheck-in and provide a reason for the visit, current location (patient must be in Connecticut at the time of the virtual visit), and provide insurance and/or payment information.
- If the patient is a minor (between the ages of 14-18), both the parent and patient must be present for the virtual visit.
- Stamford Health offers interpreters for virtual visits. Please indicate if this is needed and what language is preferred.
- Wait times will vary based on patient volume; the patient will be notified via SMS or email when their appointment begins. While an appointment may start at the appropriate time, there may be a wait for the provider to join the visit. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding.
- After a visit, all information will be documented within a patient's health record, including any referrals or follow-up orders. Stamford Health providers will be able to view this virtual visit as part of your care history.

How does a virtual visit work?To get started, visit our Virtual Care scheduling page to see the availability for a same-day visit. You can also see a "Virtual Care" appointment option when logged into your MyChart account.
Select your preferred time and follow the steps to schedule your appointment. You will be prompted to log into your MyChart account, create a new account, or continue as a guest. Once you schedule your appointment, you will be prompted to begin eCheck-in. eCheck-in is a required step before you are able to start your visit. Please log in at the time of your visit. Your scheduled appointment time should be considered a reservation; your actual start time when the provider joins the visit may fluctuate based on patient volume.
Please note that follow-up care may require an in-person visit. -
What do you need for a virtual visit?To begin a virtual visit, you need to have a smart device with video capabilities and payment information (credit card or insurance card). You must also physically be in Connecticut.

Can you receive prescriptions from a virtual visit?Yes, depending on your clinical presentation, our providers can prescribe medications during a virtual visit.

After a virtual visit, are you able to access a summary of what was discussed?Yes, you will be able to access a summary of the visit through your MyChart account. If you’re a patient within the Stamford Health system, any notes or follow-ups will also be available to any other providers on your care team.
