Stamford Hospital Visiting Hours & Guidelines

To align with our Planetree Philosophy of Person-Centered Care, Stamford Hospital practices the following as a community of caregivers.

Patient and Visitor Safety

We are happy to offer patient-directed visitation hours. Due to the unique needs of the following units, there are more structured visiting hours in place. Designated Care Partners are welcome to visit every unit, 24/7, except for our Behavioral Health Unit, which has designated visiting hours listed below.

• During respiratory virus season, visitors under the age of 12 are not permitted on our pediatric floors.
• The Cohen Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and ICU visitors must be 18+.
• South One Inpatient Psychiatric Unit visitors will be welcomed from 6 – 8PM; weekends and holidays from 2 – 4PM and 6 – 8PM
• Children under 12 years old must visit prior to 8PM

Please be considerate of the need for rest during the healing process and limit visitation according to your loved one's wishes and needs. If you have any questions or concerns about visitation, please don't hesitate to consult the patient's care team. We can make exceptions to our visitation policies on a case-by-case-basis. • Follow standard and robust infection prevention measures.
• Encourage COVID-19 vaccination action for all employees.
• Urge staff to stay home if they are not feeling well.

Our Culture of Quiet

Rest is an important part of the healing process. In order to promote a restful and quiet environment, we observe daily quiet hours from 8PM to 6AM Please let the patient's care team know if there's anything we can do to ensure his or her quiet time is restful.

Smoking, Vaping and Tobacco Policy

To protect the wellbeing of our patients, staff and visitors, Stamford Health prohibits the use of all tobacco and vaping products in and around all Stamford Health buildings, properties, parking areas and on sidewalks. Thank you for complying.

Electronic Device Use

Please be courteous to those in and around a patient’s room when using electronic devices like cell phones, iPods, and handheld video games. We encourage the use of headphones when possible. If you have questions about usage, please ask a member of the patient’s care team.

Visitor Guidelines

The safety of our patients, visitors, employees, and community members is especially important to us. Therefore, a photo ID is required to enter Stamford Health. All patients, guests, and visitors will be asked to provide a photo ID each time they visit. Acceptable forms of ID include:

• Driver’s license.
• Passport or passport card.
• Employment authorization documents that contain a photo.
• School ID with photo.
• U.S. military card.
• Home country identification card with photo.

Gift Shop Hours

Monday – Thursday: 8:30AM – 6PM
Friday: 8:30AM – 7:30PM
Saturday: 9AM – 3PM
