Physical Therapy At Stamford Health

Our PTs have experience and knowledge in helping patients build strength, endurance, flexibility, and coordination to return to their highest level of function. Here are a few common conditions we treat.

MUSCULOSKELETAL CONDITIONS

Your doctor may refer you to physical therapy if you have common injuries related to the knee, hip, foot/ankle, lumbar spine, cervical spine, elbow, wrist, or hand.

NEUROLOGICAL DIAGNOSES

Our neurological PT specialists will address deficits related to stroke, neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson's disease, and other diagnoses impacting the neurological systems.
Our therapists will create a plan to ease symptoms like pelvic pain, incontinence, diastasis recti, and more.

PRE- & POST-OPERATIVE CARE

We support patients before and after a variety of surgeries including total knee replacement, rotator cuff repair, total hip replacement, and more.

SPECIALTY THERAPIES

Other specialty offerings include aquatic therapy, lymphedema management, vestibular care, and concussion care.

RETURN-TO-SPORT PROGRAM

Our PTs create an individualized plan to help patients return to their sport of choice – and get back to being at the top of their game.

What To Expect During An Appointment

When you work with our highly trained sports rehab therapists, you can expect an individual program to improve strength and endurance, minimize pain, increase flexibility, and prevent re-injury.

  • At your first appointment, a PT will conduct an intake to understand your injury and get a baseline of your fitness level. This typically takes an hour.
  • Next, your PT will create a personalized care plan. This typically includes one or two sessions per week, for about 30 minutes to an hour each week, though each patient’s plan will be different.
  • A PT will provide a routine of exercises to practice at home between appointments.
