STAMFORD, CT/October 5, 2020 – The Healthy Child, based in Darien, Connecticut, is the second pediatric practice to join Stamford Health Medical Group (SHMG). SHMG is a multi-specialty group of more than 150 physicians that provides healthcare services to residents of Fairfield County, Connecticut and Westchester County, New York. SHMG is the largest, most complete medical group in Lower Fairfield County, with physicians representing nearly all medical and surgical specialties, and is part of Stamford Health’s comprehensive care network which includes ambulatory facilities and Stamford Hospital.
Since 2007, The Healthy Child has been serving children from birth through adolescence in a friendly, intimate setting. They have always been, and continue to be, steadfast in their promise to care for all physical and emotional aspects of a child’s health and wellbeing.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the passion and expertise of the The Healthy Child to Stamford Health Medical Group,” said Rod Acosta, MD, Chief Physician Executive, President and CEO of Stamford Health Medical Group. “We are proud of the pediatric services offered by Stamford Health’s Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Institute, and this is a great new addition to Stamford Health Medical Group’s offerings.”
“My goal is always to provide highly personal, quality care to my patients” said Cecile Windels, MD, founding physician of The Healthy Child. “We’re excited to have behind us the support of a multidisciplinary organization that is committed to patient-centered care.”
By joining SHMG, The Healthy Child will receive operational support and further integration with Stamford Health’s quality infrastructure. In return, the addition of the The Healthy Child to SHMG expands the Stamford Health’s ability to care for patients through all stages of life.
The Healthy Child’s phone numbers and office location at 745 Post Road will remain the same, and the practice will continue to accept most major insurance plans.
The team of medical professionals joining SHMG includes Cecile Windels, MD, Janet Karpiak, MD and Christen Vogel, MD. Ann Mauk, PA, will join the location part-time next month
